This scene is almost a trademark of China. Every vacation, people wait in line for hours to buy train tickets. Those thin sheets of paper with an arrow pointing to a place where they call home is probably the hope of the year for many people.

I travelled by train over the summer. It is very interesting to reintegrate into my country’s train culture after so many years of plane travelling. Observing different people in the station hall is no less than a sociological field trip.
